An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and ambitious individual to join our distribution sector.

Our company, Tekfloor Limited, is a family-run distribution company based in Goldthorpe, South Yorkshire. We are one of the largest independent distributors of floor screeding materials, renders and building insulation in the UK, with over half of our business in the insulation sector.

We are currently recruiting for a TRANSPORT ASSISTANT to provide effective and efficient administration support to our busy transport department.

Purpose of the Job:

  • To provide administration support to the transport department, including liaising with drivers.
  • To assist with planning daily orders via the inhouse system and communicating with the warehouse manager and sales office.
  • To input/retrieve data from the current Transport Management System and have the aptitude to learn / champion new systems whenever implemented.
  • To assist with stock movements across our different locations, in time, to fulfil customer orders.
  • To ensure that the department operates in line with all legal conformance; including company and customer procedures/processes, along with requirements relating to Health and Safety. To also ensure that all procedures are effectively communicated with other members of staff.

Tasks and duties will include:

  • to provide excellent administration support to the transport department.
  • to monitor stock levels and movement across all our locations to ensure that stock is in the correct location to fulfil customer requirements.
  • to ensure that the department operates in line with all legal conformance.
  • to positively represent the company, its products and services.

Who are we looking for?

  • you will be willing to work shifts (Monday to Friday)
  • you will have good communication skills and be a natural problem solver.
  • you will work well under pressure and be confident in dealing with people at all levels.
  • you will be reliable, punctual and self-motivated.
  • you will be enthusiastic, a self-starter and have a pro-active attitude to your role.
  • you will have a solid level of admin and MS Office experience.
  • you must have excellent organisational skills.
  • knowledge of SAP is favourable, but not essential, as training will be provided.
  • CPC Transport manager qualification desirable, but not essential
